Human Expenditure Program

About Human Expenditure Program

Human Expenditure Program is a dark and reflective simulation game developed by SHROOMYCHRIST. In the game, you play as a “program” operator who treats a character named Harvey Harvington as a digital being caring for him, nurturing him, and interacting with him like a pet, but at the same time having to consider the ethics, choices, and consequences of your actions.

How to play Human Expenditure Program

You will interact with Harvey through various activities such as feeding, playing, petting, and talking — kind of like caring for a digital being in a simulation environment.

In addition to caring, there are moral decisions: what you say and what you do can affect Harvey's mood, memory, or mental state.

There are minigames interspersed, which can change the experience or unlock parts of the story.

Controls

The game uses a mouse and keyboard. You use the mouse to select actions: feed, pet, play, and choose answers in minigames.

The keyboard is used to interact in some minigames or to navigate through menus/selection systems.

Does the game save progress?

Information is unclear about the ability to save progress continuously; replaying to see different choices is a core part of the experience.
